You're on the design team at a local art museum. An exciting new exhibit showcasing modern furniture design and its impact on the future is about to open! The exhibit is all set – the collection is ready, and everything is in place. Your task is to write engaging social media posts to promote the exhibit and get people excited to visit.

Let's explore two ways to create these ads using Canva. Let's begin!

Let's begin on the homepage. Click "Create a Design" to get started.

Option 1: Templates.

Templates are perfect for those starting out. Let's explore how to use one to design our ad.

After clicking 'Create a Facebook Ad,' this screen will appear. You'll see templates on the left. Let's find a template that suits our ad.

We found a suitable "furniture design" ad template, but it's a "Pro" template requiring a paid subscription. Free templates might have fewer design options.

Now, we simply click on the text boxes and replace the text.

Not bad!

Now, let's flex our creative muscles! This is where the real fun starts!

 

Option 2: Create Your Own Design!

We'll repeat the previous steps, but instead of using a template, we'll select "Magic Media" at the bottom to create our own ad design.

Click 'Describe What You Would Like to Create' and enter your description.

Click "Generate Image" underneath.

Generated images appear on the left.  Choose the one that works best for the advertisement.  Double check to make sure the program worked properly and there are no mistakes.

Now add your text like you did in the last example.

Congrats!  We have now created a professional looking ad for the exhibition.  It is catered to our purpose and features life like images that present what the exhibition will look like with guests.
